As a legacy for the NHL Stadium Series ™ of 2025 Navy Credit Union NHL Stadium, the National Hockey League (NHL) and Columbus Blue Jackets officially started officially at the Township/Powell and Liberty for a new outdoor street hockey band, scheduled to open later this summer. Tomorrow, the NHL US, Blue Jackets, ESPN and OSU Foundation are organizing a VIP lunch to celebrate female hockey and recognize the tremendous work of the Columbus ice hockey clubOne of the ‘hockey for all’ programs of the NHL, which serves more than 3,000 girls and boys in the central area of Ohio every year. Since 1999, Columbus Ice Hockey Club has been providing skating and hockey instruction throughout the year. Outside the ice, the organization provides programming focused on health and well -being, academic support, violence and community service. In Tomorrow lunch, Columbus Ice Hockey Club will officially be announced as the inaugural recipient of the “Empowerment subsidy for Girls Hockey” of the NHL Foundation.
Also at tomorrow’s lunch, ESPN will announce a subsidy for Osu’s lifesports program. Since 2009, the program has been supporting the always changing needs of community youth by providing a positive youth development program based on quality sport. The program supports girls and boys of all ages, from primary school to high school.
The NHL and its 32 clubs are committed to building healthy and vibrant communities. The Legacy initiative is a long -term philanthropic effort in which the League and its clubs support community organizations in the host city of an NHL event. This is the second Legacy project this season, after the opening of a new ball hockey track in Chicago as part of the NHL Winter Classic. Since 2003, the NHL, its clubs and partners have invested more than $ 8.3 million in inherited projects.
